Holi and the music

 Mitul doesn't want to play holi today. He just want to watch people playing outside , putting colours on one another and enjoying. He enjoys watching but not the colours on him. I asked him "should I put some colours" he just resisted . Though he cannot speak but understands almost everything. As he kept watching the guys play the colours and then the music was on and the boys and kids started dancing. Listening to the music he could no longeer stay back but went outside. Though he needs a helping hand and along with his mom went outside, I also followed. He followed the music and would have loved to dance but just shooked a leg here and there and moved along. I didn't take my phone alone therefore no pictures.

Not disable but differently abled

Today (December 3) 2012 is International Day of People with Disability. Lets all put our hands together with love for all those individuals who are so special to us.

Having a child with disability no doubt is tough for the family because in the beginning it might be difficult for the family to think for a while that the child has some or the other disability. But every child is as normal to the parents as they would be and at the same time they are special. While considering a normal child who passes on the stages of head control, rolling, sitting,crawling,standing,walking. For the delayed milestone children all these stages are delayed. It therefore becomes a matter of concern when the child delays in these stages. 

Whatever the causes, the fact remains that these children needs special attention .This little boy i am talking about is my nephew who is 16 yrs old and has cerebral palsy since childhood. He had a delayed control of head,roll,sitting,crawling, standing and walking. He still stands with some or the other support, he cannot stand on his own. Walks inside the house, but when he moves down the 2-3 steps, sometimes falls because he does not coordinate properly. Even while he is walking he falls down due to imbalance. 

Talking about books....ufff he just moves away or bangs the door, something or the other. But he likes keeping his books in his bag. His drawing books and colours. And doesn't want to give them to anyone.I am just trying to find out ways in order to make him develop an interest in drawing and colours. He had an interest in music and would listen to songs and rhymes when he was younger, and now that has changed. Only thing that he takes interest is, he seems to be quite religious because he listens and watches those musics and pujas and all....not on his own but likes watching....

Well he has another interest to watch out is playing drums, but the day he was given a tabla, he got the chapati making roller and gave a bang,and the leather tore off. He does what he sees, because the little  drums that he has is with two sticks to beat, so he did the same to the tabla....ha ha ha.....he is funny and a darling....

If I don't sleep nobody sleeps!

Well it is quite amazing that he understands certain things and doesn't understand certain other things . Like, for example,he does not understand that things like electricity and fire may be dangerous for him.Though he is most of the time, being watched on about his activities,  He does not sit for long at one place, very fickle minded, unable to concentrate at one thing. Always likes to keep himself right on his toes...........and yes if he doesnt sleep nobody sleeps.................:)) that's what the shirt says too!
